Protein and Pre-Workout: What I recommend

Hey Everyone,

As some of you know, I’ve been working out consistently for the past year. In this time I have tried lots of different Proteins and Pre-Workouts. I thought I would share with you my favorites and what I did and didn’t like about the others!

Core Power This protein is probably my favorite because it tastes the best! This has 26 grams of Protein in each bottle. However, they are more expensive because they are pre-made for you.

If you’re willing to spend more on protein, this is my personal favorite. My favorite flavor its the Banana creme, It’s SO good! It tastes just like a banana creme pie. I believe they sell these at Costco. If you have a membership you can go there and get a bigger box for cheap. If you get a bottle at a convent store, they are usually around $3 a piece.

Premier ProteinThis is also a pre-made protein shake. It has 30 grams of protein and are reasonably priced. It cost around $24 for a box of 18. This one still has a good flavor to it, it doesn’t have that nasty protein after-taste. You can get Premier Protein at Costco or Sam’s club. If you don’t have a membership you can also get it here. 🙂

This is a good option if you don’t like mixing your own protein and don’t want to spend a lot. It has a good flavor with a good price.

Myolean 100% Whey ProteinThis is the best protein power by far! This one will be the best deal for your money, it has 40 grams of protein in it, and it doesn’t clump like most protein powders do.

The worst thing about buying protein you have to mix yourself, is that sometimes it doesn’t mix very well and you will have clumps of protein in your drink. This one mixes very well, and it is more smooth then most protein powder.

The taste isn’t the best, but it is bearable. It does taste like the flavor but it also has the protein after-taste. If you want to get a good protein powder, with lots of protein for cheap, I would recommend this one.

We usually purchase 1 bag a month, but we have 3 people that use it. So it goes a long ways. The Vanilla flavor isn’t bad, but we drank it for so long we’ve been getting the chocolate. The only flavor we haven’t tried yet is the strawberry. I have heard that it is good, so we are going to try that one next!

I would take pre-workout every day before going to the gym. Currently don’t take pre-workout unless I feel like I need a boost.

I believe that because I took pre-workout for so long it doesn’t work as well for me anymore. I don’t get the boost that I used to. So I’ll share with you the ones that have a good flavor.

Finding a good pre-workout is harder than it should be. Some are super sweet, and some are just awful. Here are some I think taste awesome:

Warrior Hers – Cotton Candy – This one was one of my favorites. I loved that it was so smooth! Plus, it tasted like COTTON CANDY! This one wasn’t as sweet to me, it was easy to drink. It didn’t have any weird after tastes, I liked it.

C4 OriginalThis one is probably the cheapest option, however it isn’t smooth. When I took this I always had to choke it down. The flavors weren’t bad, but it wasn’t my favorite. If you’re looking for a cheap, fast option, you can get this at any Wal-Mart.

Ghost WarHeadThis one is currently one of my favorites! It is smooth, and has a great taste. It is super sweet, so when you first try it, it is STRONG. After a minute of drinking it, I really started to like it.

This one is average price, and you can get it at a local GNC or you can purchase it on

Bucked Up-  Locally owned in American Fork, Utah this one is fantastic! After taking pre-workout for so long I don’t feel like it helps anymore. This one definitely gives me energy! The taste is smooth, and it tastes really good! I get the blood razz flavor. I didn’t think I would like it, turns out it’s my favorite so far! Also, if you use promo code: Devv20 you will get a discount!

Those are some of the pre-workouts and proteins that I like. I hope this helps you while deciding what to purchase.

I would love to know what you guys recommend and what you like! Feel free to comment below!
