How I keep Myself Motivated to Achieve my Fitness Goals

Staying Motivated is hard. It’s hard to wake up in the morning and workout. Here are some easy things I do to keep myself motivated each day so I can reach my fitness goals.

  • Get a Workout Partner

Every time I wake up, it’s 5am and I don’t feel like going to the gym. We all think about sleeping in, and how one day won’t make a difference. If you have a partner, you’re not only letting yourself down, you’re letting them down. Don’t be that friend, keep each other accountable. Even if you don’t want to go, get up. When you see your partner you will feel more motivated. You will find the energy to push through the workout. You give each other energy. When I don’t feel like going, this speech always plays in my head. This is what gets me up:

“They say champions come in pairs of two. There are going to be days when you’re dragging ass. You have every excuse in the world why not go to the gym. Having that partner is going to ensure you get there. We will kid ourselves, we will fail all the time on ourselves. But it’s a sad M***** F***** that fails on someone else’s terms. When someone else is relying on you”.

Get it done. Get up, and go. Even if you don’t want to, do it for your partners sake. They need you there, they need your support. Don’t let them down.   1. Listen to Motivational Speeches

This might not be for everyone, but this will turn my day around. When I’m doing cardio and I want to quit; I want to go home and go back to bed. This is what keeps me going. They make me want to be better, telling me I’ll never get today back. Putting life in perspective. Go out there and get what you want. They have lots of motivational videos on Youtube.  3. Perseverance

Life is hard, but in reality you aren’t going to get somewhere without working hard. Nothing is going to be handed to you. I hate when people see someone who is successful and say things like, “They must have been handed all their success”. Most of the time, this is false. You don’t see them while they are building their empire. You only see them after they made it successful.

When people tell you that you can’t do something, go do it. Go do it the best you possible can. Prove to them and yourself that you’re able to do it. Your mind is a powerful thing, and it can do anything you set it to. Don’t give up, go get what you want. Don’t miss opportunities because someone tells you it won’t work. You’ll always have negative people trying to push you down.

4. Believe in Yourself

Obviously, if you don’t believe in yourself you won’t get anywhere. Henry Ford said:

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’tyou‘re right.”

How could  others believe in you, if you don’t believe in yourself? You have to go out there and get what you want. Nothing is going to be handed to you. You want to be fit? Go workout. Want better grades? Study more. You don’t need anyone’s approval to do what you want. If you have a dream, don’t let anything get in the way. If you do, you’ll fail.

You will have obstacles you have to go through, but those are challenges, seeing if you want it bad enough. Bad enough to go through all of that. If you make it through those obstacles, that’s what will make you successful.
